Tomorrow we Fight Yester’s Men
Tomorrow we Fight Yester’s Men This book is a collection of memories mostly of my own life being born in London with two addict parents, growing up in a highly dysfunctional single parent family, being extremely poor and labelled underclass.
Not having the skills to negotiate adult life, I quickly fell into more dysfunctional relationships leading to domestic violence, mental illness and my own addiction issues.
One constant through all of this has been words. Writing has always helped to manage the chaos in my head. The page has been a place to leave my memories and to try and make sense of the situations and experiences which have brought me to where I am today.
Although there are a lot of bad moments in my life contained within this book (and not all of them were survived without scars) there is love and lightness here too, life hasn’t been entirely bad and it wouldn’t be fair to just depress you all now would it? I believe life must have balance.
I have also ventured into writing about people and situations in life like our treatment of nurses, our treatment of refugees and to an extent our treatment of ourselves throughout changing times, is all of our progress in the last 50 years really progress?
